There are so many different types of scratchcards available to players these days, including the continually changing scratchcards available in shops across the UK and a whole host of online scratchcards.
With so many different rules and gameplay options, it can be hard to understand how to play these games – especially if you have little experience with them
With rules changing so often, we recently noticed so many National Lottery scratchcard players that were confused with the new Cashword Bonus scratchcard.
Therefore, we decided to write an article on the correct way to play the cashword scratchcard, as we were constantly being contacted asking if we could be a scratch card checker!
The thing is, this also occurs with other scratchcards and we constantly get emails and messages asking to check scratchcards to see if they have won or not – this isn’t an issue you get with online scratchcards!
Below are screenshots of some of the messages that we’ve actually received via social media and direct by email:
This article has been written to clarify if there is such a thing as a National Lottery scratch card checker, whether you can check a scratchcard online but also the best ways to check UK scratch card wins!
Can I Check My Scratch Card Online?
Firstly, before we start, when people ask us, ‘Can you check a scratch card online’ our answer is always that there is no legitimate or official way to check your scratchcard online.
Whilst it is possible to check your lotto winnings on the National Lottery website and other similar websites, there is no such thing as an online scratchcard checker.
However, we do recommend one way in which you can check your scratchcard online.
Simply go to any active facebook fan page (or our scratchcard winners facebook page), post a photo on the page and ask for feedback from other National Lottery scratchcard players.
Don’t worry about revealing your 4 digit code on the front, as it is only possible to cash in a scratchcard with the scratchcard in your presence.
Alternatively, at Scratchcard Winners, we are always happy to help you out. We won’t even charge you, but my request a small fee if you’ve won a jackpot prize!

How To Check My Scratchcard Win
By far the easiest and most effective way to check you scratchcard win, is to just take it into any shop that sells scratchcards.
If you’ve won on a scratchcard – or think you’ve won – reveal the 4 digit code on the front of the scratchcard.
See the top right of the photo below if you don’t know what it is:
With this code, and the unique barcode on the reverse of the scratchcard, a shop can check your scratchcard, and tell you if you’ve won and how much.
If you’ve not won, you can always ask for your scratchcard back so you can keep it.
You may want to check the next section if you are really sure you’ve won!
Can I Double Check My Scratchcard Win?
If you’ve really think you’ve won, then I recommend you get it double checked.
The reason we say this, is because we know of previous occasions when the National Lottery temporarily suspended sales of one of their scratchcards after receiving too many complaints from scratchcard players for the exact issue.
You can contact the National Lottery and they will be able to help. We recommend to contact them a social media page, especially twitter.
A lot of the time, one of their social media reps will be able to help you out, and we’ve actually seen people contact them this way before.
However, as we’ve mentioned previously, just post a photo on the Scratchcard Winners Facebook page, or any other popular scratchcard page and ask for help from other players.
Alternatively, just contact us at the bottom of this page.
