42-year-old Lesley from Basingstoke is the latest National Lottery scratchcard winner to go public, after winning £2,000,000 on the Monopoly Riches scratchcard.
Lesley purchased the £5 scratchcard when she went to the shops to buy some spinach, however, instead opting to purchase a chocolate orange bar. Alongside her purchase, she opted to treat herself to the Monopoly Riches.

In a touch of fate, Lesley is convinced that her Grandad was watching over her on the day of the purchase. She said
“When I went to the shop, I even said to the shop assistant ‘I’m feeling lucky today’. My grandad died in December and he always used to say to me ‘when I win The National Lottery, I’ll buy you the big house on top of the hill,’ so I can’t help feeling he was with me that day, telling me to buy the ticket – I just wish he was here to see it.”
