22-year-old security guard Luke Ashman has just scooped a £250,000 jackpot after winning on the Multiplier Orange scratchcard.

Luke purchased the National Lottery scratchcard before getting ready for a night out. He told National Lottery about how his win came about.

“I scratched a diamond, then a win symbol – I saw £250,000 but wasn’t sure whether it was a full stop or a comma. When I double checked and saw I had won the top prize my heart was thumping and I literally started to shake.

“I stumbled along the drive, opened the front door and started to shout out to whoever was home.”

After asking his mum to double check the £2 scratchcard to see if he had actually won, he called Camelot to confirm he was indeed a winner before sharing the news with his dad and three brothers.

Luke celebrated by taking his girlfriend out that evening and also shared his news.

He plan on spending the money on a Ford Mustang and family celebrations.

“It’s my birthday in a couple of weeks. It’s then my Dad’s 50th and my 3 brothers have special birthdays too, so we’ll wait until after the 21st June to get together with lots of family and friends and have a fantastic party.”
